If you are unable to submit a draft application, it may be due to not answering a mandatory question. All questions marked with a red asterix (*) are mandatory questions, so must be answered. If you have missed one of these questions, then you will receive an error message at the top of the application page you are currently on, listed the fields that need to be filled out. Once those questions have been answered, you will be able to move to the next part of your application.

Another reason why you are unable to submit a draft application is due to the file names that you have used for either your resume or cover letter. If the file name contains any spaces or special characters (!@#&*_) then the file can cause your application to jam, which will stop you from being able to submit your application. We would recommend using your first name and last name for the file name on your resume and cover letter. For example JohnSmithCV or JohnSmithCoverLetter.

If you are unable to submit a draft application that you saved previously, but can only see the 'discard' button then this means that the closing date for this position has passed, so applications are no longer being accepted. If your application is partially completed when a job closes, you will need to contact the recruitment team for that company to discuss whether they will accept a late submission.

If you have been sent a special link to apply directly for a certain position, but you save your application as a draft and come back to it at a later stage, you will need to ensure that you click on the link again when you want to complete it, rather than simply going to the careers site of that company and then logging in.

If you have been provided with one of these links, then we would recommend that you complete the entire application through to submission in one attempt, to avoid issues with submitting an application after the closing date.
